Value for Money

The word ‘cheap’ is full of negative connotations. Whilst it’s normally used to refer to the price of an item, many people assume that if something is cheap it is also poor quality. When it comes to home accessories, this is simply not true. There are hundreds of websites offering value for money curtains and rugs for your home, allowing you to save money compared to shopping in local home furnishing stores on the high street.

Lined or Unlined?

Whilst it’s true that most cheap curtains are unlined, as this saves the manufacturers money and allows them to sell the curtains at a lower price, it is possible to find lined curtains if you’re willing to pay a little extra. Or you could purchase cheap, unlined curtains online and add lining yourself – you could even head to your local tailors and have them add the lining for you, to save even more money! Unlined curtains are in fashion right now – think floaty, sheer voiles and pastel coloured curtains which let in natural light. If you need more privacy than these curtains provide, you can always add blinds to keep the light out.

Do it Yourself

The cheapest curtains can often be found online, but if you’re ordering them ready made, you might not be able to find the exact size of curtains you need for your windows. As long as they are wide enough to open and close, you can hem your curtains yourself using iron-on tape (or a needle and thread if you’re particularly handy!). By purchasing cheap curtains online, it’s also possible to find matching cushion covers and other accessories to create a theme for your room which ties everything together.

Buying cheap curtains is a great way to save money when furnishing your home, and if you’re looking for curtains which you can change with the seasons, there is no point in spending a fortune on bespoke or designer curtains.
